Archival print of lands and landmarks of Clan Donald and the Lord of the Isles
Clan Donald would be the dominant power in the Highlands and Islands for two and a half centuries, reaching the summit of its power and influence in the late 16th century. This graphic encapsulates Clan Donald's history and lineage from Somerled to the last Lord of the Isles. Somerled's grandson Donald would be the clan's progenitor. From Clan Donald nine more clans would branch. The map reflects the disposition of these clans' lands as recognized in the 1587 act of Scotland's Parliament. During this era Clan Donald's orbit also included numerous septs and related families as well as constantly shifting alliances with other Highland clans. This can be found on the history page of the High Council of Chiefs of Clan Donald's website.
This is available as a 17" x 22" archival print with a live area of 14.5" x 19.4" (the printed area within the sheet). More information about the print and archival printing is on the Scottish clans page. See a page with ordering instructions. If you have questions email Mike McMillen.
